Big win: Youth v. Oil was advocating for California’s Senate Bill 1137. This bill was passed in 2022 and would prohibit new oil and gas wells within 3,200 feet of homes, schools, nursing homes and hospitals, but Big Oil collected enough signatures to turn SB 1137 into a referendum, putting it on the 2024 ballot for voters to decide on. Big Oil recently dropped their referendum! Read our press release here

Host a Polluters Pay Walkout

On October 24th, youth across the state will be hosting walkouts at their school in support of the Polluter Pays Climate Superfund (SB 1243 and AB 684). Over 20 schools across the state have teams working on a walkout at their school. To host a walkout at your school, you can fill out the form below, and you will be assigned an adult mentor who will help you through the process of planning a walkout. This includes organizing a team, talking to your school’s admin, and planning an event. If you’re interested, please fill out the form below.
